HOW MUCH DOES INTERPRETATION COST?
The price for an interpretation job depends on very different factors (length, level of difficulty, mode, travel …) and normally day rates are charged. A personal conversation is always the best way to find out what you need and what it will cost. Every interpretation job requires very thorough preparation, on both the linguistic and technical level. This preparation is always included in the price.
HOW MUCH DOES TRANSLATION COST?
Also the price for translation services depends on many different factors (length of the source text, level of difficulty, language combination, required date of delivery …). For me to be able to make you an offer it’s best if you send me your text. The offer then already includes needed research, the translation itself as well as proofreading.
In translation the calculation is usually based on words or standard lines (comprising 55 characters, including spaces). In market research it’s also common to charge per hour.
HOW LONG DOES A TRANSLATION TAKE?
As you can imagine this also depends on many factors. Apart from the already mentioned ones, especially your needed date of delivery and my capacity are decisive. Delivering my work on time is a matter of course for me! Nothing is impossible! If you have something urgent, I’m available on weekends, holidays or at night, provided I have free capacities. This, however, also has to be remunerated accordingly. No matter how big, small or urgent your job, each is performed with the same commitment and the same quality standards.
HOW MUCH IS PROOFREADING?
You have a German text that you want someone to proofread for you? That’s another service I offer, but only for German text. Proofreading is normally charged per hour.
WHAT DON’T I DO?
– I don’t accept jobs where I’m not absolutely sure to be able to deliver top-quality work. Your satisfaction with my work is my top priority.
– I don’t work in the area of justice/judiciary because I don’t have the needed knowledge for it. Here you should contact somebody else or alternatively I can pass your job on to a qualified colleague.
– I also don’t offer certified translations since I’m not authorized.
HOW CAN YOU HELP ME?
The more I know about your company/ the job the better I can work on it. Should you have any glossaries, please send them to me together with the source text. This way, the translation will also already include your company-specific terminology. The more information I have the higher the quality.
