spainchat Long before my studies it was clear for me, that my passion for languages and cultures would later on be part of my work life. As a translator and interpreter I possess openness, flexibility as well as social and cultural competences, apart from my language skills. Spain and the USA are just two of six countries where I lived and where I learned to successfully face very different challenges. germanchat0

INTERPRETATION

Do you have a meeting with an international business partner? Are you looking for someone to lead your international conference to success? Then you came to the right place.
The right interpretation mode for every type of event – to ensure successful intercultural communication across language barriers:

  • Simultaneous interpretation – almost immediate language transfer for which technical equipment is necessary (sound-proof booth, sound engineering, microphone, headphones). Due to the high stress level of simultaneous interpretation, interpreters always work in teams.
Simultaneous interpretation is ideal for multilingual event (such as conferences, fairs, conventions, etc.) or wherever the time factor is important.
  • Whispered interpretation – similar to simultaneous interpretation, but without technical aids. The interpreter sits behind the listener and whispers into their ear.
This type of interpretation is suitable if there is only a very small number of listeners. Due to the fact that the interpreter sits in the same room and “whispers“, there are additional noises.
  • Escort interpretation – also almost immediate language transfer with the help of a so-called “tour guide system”. This consists of a microphone and headsets.
Escort interpretation is a good choice for events where a booth is not an option, e.g. site visits or tours.
  • Consecutive interpretation – Here, the interpreter takes notes during a part of a speech with which he then transfers the part into the target language. Parts shouldn’t be longer than 15 minutes.
Consecutive interpretation involves considerable time because speaker and interpreter have to take turns speaking. Consecutive might be used for welcome speeches, bilateral negotiations, receptions, etc. – with interpretation into just one language.
  • Liaison interpretation – very similar to consecutive interpretation, with normally shorter speeches.
This type of interpretation is often used for negotiations in which business partners have to be able to react quickly. To make that possible, this is often done sentence-by-sentence, with the interpreter switching back and forth between two languages.

If you are unsure about the right mode for your event, I’m more than happy to help you.
